It was such a lovely day - friendly people, fantastic quality stock in the store, great volunteers, lovely surroundings and the fabulous manager Marilyn who looked after me like a princess!
She has invited me back in October and i cannot wait to visit the lovely Cranbrook store again!

News Just In......
One Day Costume Sale
Saturday 6th August 2011 Charlton Assembly Rooms, The Village, Charlton, London SE7 8UD
Doors open 11am – 4pm
Doors open 11am – 4pm
We are a theatre production company that has written, directed and produced many professional Pantomimes and Shows over the last 10 years. After much deliberation, we have taken the decision to clear out our stores and have a sale of all of our accumulated stock – a difficult decision for a costume junkie and hoarder like myself. But we would rather these costumes see the footlights again and are used rather than sitting in our store room!
We will be taking over the use of Charlton Assembly Rooms for the day and filling it with hundreds of lovely costumes – some are used and some have never been worn. Perfect for a collector, theatre groups, producer, fancy dress hire business or individuals wanting a stunning costume.
Costumes for sale will include many stunning Victorian gowns from Music Hall shows, Georgian Dresses from Opera productions (some never even worn). Plus a whole range of Tyrolean and Austrian costumes along with Guys and Dolls ‘Hot Box’ outfits, lots of individual, Dresses, Shirts and Skirts etc.
There are also Props, Shoes, Hats, Make Up and Wigs plus some interesting items collected from the last 10 years of Theatre and Film productions…..all at bargain prices.
We have a section packed with Theatrical Trims, Sequins, Fabric Bundles, Threads, Buttons - all perfect for Costume making or Crafts
To support our team who are walking this year’s ‘Shine Walk’ for Cancer Research UK, we will be having a Vintage Cafe and Book Sale of which the proceeds will be added to our fundraising efforts!
There is a free car park behind the Assembly Rooms plus on street parking around the area.
Charlton is 5 minutes from the Blackwall Tunnel and 15 minutes from the Dartford Crossing by car, the Assembly Rooms have bus stops yards away that are on 4 bus routes and it is only a 5 minute walk from mainline Charlton Overground station. It also only takes 10 minutes on a bus from North Greenwich Tube station (Jubilee Line).
Payment: Cash or Business Cheque (with ID) only.
Payment: Cash or Business Cheque (with ID) only.
Prices will go from 50p up to £75 for some of the more pristine, intricate Victorian or Georgian dresses. Offers will be considered!
Visit www.thecostumeandproproom.blogspot.com for some photos and further details. There will also be a basic stock list advertised on here as we set up.
If you are interested in coming along then please do get in contact via meliguin@gmail.com or 07957 284709 if you have any questions and we will give full details including a map and more detailed directions.
Otherwise just turn up from 11am and we look forward to seeing you there!

June already...?
It has been a completely manic Month of May......
Firstly to kick off the month i exhibited at the first ever 'Kitsch and Stitch' event in Cranbrook and what a fantastic day that was!!
Not only was it amazingly well attended (with lots of friendly customers which is always nice!) it was fabulously organised by two lovely ladies who made us all feel very very welcome! It was a perfect place to launch my new range of Pick & Mix cake stands which went down a treat and almost sold out.
Cakes on sale were delish and all for a good cause which made eating them obviously less sinful - and i met some really lovely stall holders with beautiful items!
I can't wait to be back for the next ones!!
Last weekend we had the crazy costume sale - again we met the most fantastic people - the costumes are beginning their new life in new Theatre Productions, Pantomimes, Fancy Dress Hire and some are winging their way to the USofA to the Burning Man festival......(how does that work that a costume travels more than me this year - hmmmm something needs fixing!!)
There are still some lovely costumes & props left, plus tons of amazing buttons, trims and fabrics - so we are thinking of another one either later this month or in July - if you are interested then please drop a line to me and i will add you to the email list once details are ready.

International Women's Fair - Old Spitalfields
What an amazing way to spend a Saturday!
I was proud to be part of the International Women's Fair this weekend and it didn't disappoint! This was my first visit to Old |Spitalfields as a trader and really hope to back there again soon. What lovely people and space.
My stall was right opposite the stage area which with the speakers facing right in my direction and a great big drum kit being set up i was really worried! Was this a terrible place to be - would i be heard - would people crowd out the stall - it wasn't a cheap fair to attend so i was really worried......but i needn't be!
Yes it was noisy - yep - people stood in front of the stall, blocking access and no i couldn't be heard - but this all did not matter when the band started playing the atmosphere changed into a great big party - and i got the best seat in the house!
Have added a couple of pictures.....
So lots of happy friendly shoppers - lots of lovely comments and lots of sales - all while listening to the fabulous Electric Landladies......Simply Perfect!
