The last day of January....

and i am only really writing my first post of the year - how naughty!

It has been a chaotic month for me here at Simply Vintage HQ.....from finishing and clearing out our Christmas show at the Snowdome, celebrating a 30 something birthday, getting snowed in and finishing with a Surprise 70th Birthday event to organise for my amazing Dad last weekend.....phew!

The next couple of months are very exciting - lots of events, markets and shows throughout Feb some lovely ones and some brand new ones which is always an exciting time! I will be updating my events page today with all the places i can be found at over the coming months.

The big event of the start of this year is to come though.....being support / birthing partner again to my brilliant best friend who is due early March - another godson is on his way - yey!

So onto this weekend....two fabulous events.....Judy's at Spitalfields on Saturday and Pop Up Vintage Fairs in Islington on Sunday!
Cannot wait for either.....as i was snowed in for the last Spitalfields event i shall be having a major sale/clear out of China, Linens, candles and more.....but never fear i have a separate pile of amazing sale goodies for Islington.....

Phew! 2 days later....

......and my feet are still aching!

What a crazy, fabulous, exhausting and exciting weekend that was at The Cake & Bake Show!

A few teething troubles.....but this was a new venture so i am sure these will be addressed for the next one.

Great speakers, stalls and customers....i only managed about 3 minutes away from the stand but managed to bag all my Christmas Cake goodies for a bargain price of £5 - taste some yummy marshmallows (http://www.themarshmallowists.co.uk) eat some delicious treats from the Cinnamon Tree Bakery (thecinnamontreebakery.co.uk )

The lovely Jo from last years Great British Bake Off visited my stand and purchased some lovely vintage bits and pieces

So....all in all a great show - great customers - will definitely be at the next one in Manchester!!

Off to prepare for the next adventure at the US Airforce Base this weekend (complete with pancake breakfasts each morning!!!!)

It's a sell out!

This weekend's Cake and Bake Show at Earls Court it a sell out with just a few last minute tickets to be had - wowzers!

If you are booked in and are visiting this weekend i look forward to seeing you there! I am on stand 78 right in the middle.

As this is a new show i have no idea how busy it will be on the stands so i am taking as much stock as is possible just in case.....but if there is something in particular you would like to have a look at then please do email me before Friday so that i can make sure i have them on the stand!

I have lots of vintage china teacups and sets, mix n match cake stands, vintage teapots galore, lots of lovely vintage cutlery, vintage teacup candles, vintage linen tablecloths, magazine adverts and many many more vintage treasures!
Alongside these i have a few vintage inspired items.....from teacup shaped baking molds to retro kitchen signs - plus the ever popular vintage milk bottles with carrier!

It looks amazing as a show .....

Tomorrow is the set up for the lovely Longines Royal International Horse Show and i really really don't want to get all muddy again!

it may have been a wash out but i managed to meet some lovely people and take some new pics....

I have added some lovely new fairs and events for the next few months.....fingers crossed the weather takes a turn for the better !

How lazy.......

am i?

I have just realised i have not posted for over a month! Ooops - so much to do and so little time.
It has been a whirlwind of making, sourcing, crafting, exhibiting and shopping!

First came the breezy and soggy Wealden Times Midsummer Fair - it was lovely despite the weather. And i have never been at a show with so many cute dogs (i even had the pleasure to meet a Dandy Dinmont - sooooo adorable) It was a slow few days for sales but lovely to meet new exhibitors and to be with the lovely Kitty's, All the Fun of the Fair and Susie Sharp again.

A few days off then a visit to the Vintage Pixie in Shalford, again lovely day and great to be with some familiar faces and to meet some new.

So now i am preparing for tomorrow at Oxfam in Cranbrook, one of my favourite days - i get to spend the day with my goodies and the lovely staff (they have just started stocking some lovely vintage things so i better watch my wallet!)

Then a week of mad prep for the Village Vintage fair in Cuckfield and off i go to the Great Yorkshire Show (eeek! a big big show)

Phew.....then another visit to the brilliant Kitsch and Stitch in Cranbrook!

and finally a day off.......

As Looney Tunes would say.....that's all folks!

Back from Paradise....

....and back to work!

After an amazing 2 weeks in Fiji and the Yasawa Islands i am back and ready for work.

Despite being on a beautiful island i still managed to squeeze in a trip to a local thrift shop (i can't even pass one by on holiday!!) bought some fantastic Fijian print fabrics that i couldn't leave behind - i know they will be useful someday! Visited a local craft market and met the most fabulous lady who makes all her own crafts and shared a few secrets with me! Her items were beautiful and i nearly bought her whole stall.

So back to work with a passion - lots of new events and fairs coming up - i have just updated the events page so please have a wander over to see if we are at a show near you!
